What is Ayana AI?
+
Ayana AI is an AI-powered astrology experience built on the foundations of Jyotiṣa (Vedic astrology). Your birth chart, daśā periods and Sade Sati dates are calculated exactly with the Swiss Ephemeris; an AI model then interprets those results. The AI never calculates anything itself — it only explains numbers the engine has already computed, and cites the placements behind each claim.
What does it cost?
+
Nothing for the calculations — birth charts, divisional charts, daśā timelines, transits and Sade Sati dates need no account. Sade Sati dates, your current period and your signs are answered straight from your chart. Answers in words run on an AI account you connect: a free Google AI key, OpenRouter's free models in one click, or any provider's key, billed by that provider directly.
Is the AI trained on astrology?
+
No — it isn't trained or fine-tuned. It is guided: each answer gets the facts computed for your chart and a knowledge base written from the classical texts of Jyotiṣa, and each part of that knowledge is measured on sample charts before it ships. The results are published on the How Ayana works page.
How do I calculate my Sade Sati dates?
+
Create your chart with your date, time and place of birth, then open the Sade Sati tab. It lists every Sade Sati in your lifetime with exact start and end dates for each phase (rising, peak and setting), including the times Saturn steps back into a sign while retrograde, plus the related Aṣṭama and Ardhāṣṭama Śani periods.
What is Sade Sati?
+
Sade Sati is Saturn's roughly seven-and-a-half-year passage through the 12th, 1st and 2nd signs counted from your natal Moon. In Vedic astrology it is traditionally a period of pressure, responsibility and maturing. Ayana shows exactly when yours falls, which areas of life it touches for your chart, and month-by-month guidance — as tendencies, not verdicts.
How accurate are the calculations?
+
Planet positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris (Lahiri ayanāṁśa by default) and are checked against published references — Sade Sati ingress dates against a published panchang and chart positions against an independent reference. The biggest source of error is usually the birth time itself: a few minutes can change the rising sign.
What if I don't know my exact birth time?
+
You can still create a chart — tick “I don't know the exact time” and noon is used. Planet signs and daśā periods are usually still right, but the rising sign and houses may not be, so treat those parts with caution.
Is my birth data private?
+
On the public site, charts you save and readings you generate are stored only in your own browser, and any AI key you add stays in your browser too — it is passed straight to the AI provider and never stored. Ayana AI is open source, so you can check exactly what it does.
